Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Airport – Antigua Guatemala + Tour

    Arrival at La Aurora International Airport, where you are met and transferred to Antigua Guatemala. At the appointed time, departure to visit one of the most important cities of the colonial period in the Americas: on arrival, visit La Merced church, the Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral, with free time for shopping. At the appointed time, transfer to your Porta Hotel Antigua for overnight.

  2. Day 2

    Antigua – Chichicastenango – Lake Atitlán

    Breakfast. Early departure to the market town of Chichicastenango, in the Guatemalan central highlands, known above all for its multicoloured market; visit the church of Santo Tomás. At a convenient time, departure for Lake Atitlán, ringed by the three volcanoes Atitlán, Tolimán and San Pedro, whose clear waters mirror the natural beauty of the lake. Panoramic visit of Panajachel. At a convenient time, transfer to the Porta Hotel del Lago for overnight.

  3. Day 3

    Boat To San Juan La Laguna – Lake Atitlán – Guatemala City

    Breakfast. At 08:00 we board the boat that takes us across to the village of San Juan La Laguna; on arrival, a walk through the village and a visit to the Catholic church. We then continue to the chocolate co-operative to see how it is made, and on to the weaving co-operative, where they show us how the dyes for these beautiful textiles are prepared; we also visit the medicinal plant artisans. At a convenient time, return to Panajachel and, in the afternoon, transfer to Guatemala City. Overnight at Hotel Barceló Guatemala City.

  4. Day 4

    Half-Day City Tour – Airport

    Breakfast. Departure from your hotel at 09:00 to visit Nueva Guatemala de la Asunción — the official name of Guatemala City — founded in 1776 after the earthquakes that destroyed Santiago de los Caballeros de Guatemala, today Antigua, and the fourth capital of the Kingdom of Guatemala during the colonial period. Along the way you will see Avenida La Reforma, one of the city's main avenues, then the Centro Cívico, where public buildings carry murals by Guatemalan artists, and finally the historic centre for a panoramic view of the National Palace of Culture and the Metropolitan Cathedral, together with a visit to Avenida de Las Américas. At a convenient time, transfer to the airport for your flight home.
